About Andy
I teach English composition, creative writing, and mythology at local community colleges, and have been doing so for the past seven years.
I write fantasy, mystery, and science fiction novels, short stories, and flash fiction whenever I get the chance (which is more frequently thanks to Alchemist).
I consider myself a novice programmer, but I'm a quick study, and have developed various programs and scripts for Excel to make teaching more effective before coming up with Alchemist. I've even created a text-based adventure game (a la Zork) I've used in my teaching.
You got this far? Okay, you've got stamina, or you're really curious. Which is also me. I'm curious. I have to find things out. I'm constantly asking "what if . . . ?" which gets me into trouble because I have to find out and make something like Alchemist.
And if you've seen the annotated video, you know I've got a quirky sense of humor. Even in my teaching I'm cracking jokes, trying to get the students engaged, and well, because that's who I am. Ultimately, that's why I made Alchemist, to give a little more time to do things that are fun.
And I don't have enough sense to come in from the rain (or hail). I run into it.
